The best muse relationships involve motivation on mental, emotional and spiritual levels as well as mere physical attraction ! One of the problems of the muse relationship is balancing the flow of emotional energy. Those of us who have experienced it know that the muse kind of attraction and desire starts somewhere beyond the hormones and neurotransmitters and although we enjoy the rush when our body responds, it is the mental and spiritual dimensions that give it a channel and meaning. What helps you define and achieve your goals? What provokes you or makes you mad enough to act? The ideal is to fit the things that drive you in with the purposes of your life, the basic tenants or personal rules of character that define who you are. Include those you hold in high esteem, idolize, revere or worship and write it down. Try to visualize what or who you adore, cling to, hold dear, treasure and love. These are the things that are really important to you, that you care deeply about.

It might be helpful to make a list of the things that motivate you. An independent force in your psyche that directs your creativity, and to which you deliberately hand over ultimate responsibility for your work.Īre you a person who needs a muse to get you going? Ī person or a force who is the origin of inspiration for a creative artist. Love gives us the reassurance that we will be cared for and helped in times of need and given support to achieve goals.Īpart from Love, we also tend to have some “Inspiration ” or “Muse” in our lives. The most common things that love drives us to do is to find a partner and sometimes get married and have children who we in turn share our love with. We use love to drive us in what we do in life. Love is (usually) how we are all created in the first place, so technically we wouldn’t be here without it.

On a smaller scale, we survive as children because of the love our parents or caregivers provide for us. People love money and that creates a drive for them to work harder and run businesses. In a larger aspect, love runs the world around us. Love gives us the assurance that we are not alone in the world. Humans create love out of strong, personal bonds. And so we find ourselves lying awake at night, searching the Internet for an exact definition because our culture creates a need for one–we want to know how others perceive love so we can determine how our love stacks up against that definition. The Merriam Webster defines love as “a strong affection for another rising out of kinship or personal ties, attraction based on sexual desire, and affection and tenderness felt by lovers”. It’s bigger than us, meaning, though we can invite it into our lives, we do not have the control over the how, when and where love starts to express itself. But, because love takes on different forms, we can each experience love in our own way, which is why defining the term ‘love’ is so complicated. Why are so many of us always wondering what the meaning of love is? Is it out of fear of uncertainty in a relationship? Or is it because we ourselves have been accused of not showing love for someone? And why is it that, even when we don’t fully understand what exactly love is, we tend to make decisions–good and bad–based on love? DEFINING ‘LOVE’ IN DIFFERENT VARIANTS Love is one of the most profound emotions we experience as humans.
